Winter chores

There was lots of snow fall this weekend!  We shoveled Friday and Saturday and the snow kept falling.  Lucas liked the extra work, though.  We count 1...2..3... then take a running start to push the snow out of the way, with lots of giggles.

This week Lucas learned to play catch with Grandpa Chuck.  

We can tell he is doing something different when he plays this game because normally he the ball would go straight into his mouth.   Now, though, he'll scoot it with his hands or intentionally let go. 

Eden and Lucas

We were so happy to see our friends Sarah and Jason this weekend, visiting from Portland with their daughter Eden.  We reminisced about how Eden (who just turned 1!) was about Lucas' age (7 months) when we were last together.  She was such a HUGE baby to us!  Crawling around, holding her head up, playing with toys.  Back in those early months, I wondered how it was possible that our little boy would grow up to be as advanced as Eden.  We'd meet Sarah and Jason for breakfast at Vita Cafe and use the front-pack carrier as a guaranteed nap for Lucas (who otherwise would be crying, crying, crying) while Eden tried to climb all over the benches.  Those were the days.  I'm glad Lucas did make it to 7 months, and I'm glad he's now a smiling, happy boy.

They're warming up to each other - but Lucas is still really only interested in eating toys.  

Someday he'll grow up to be a mature and walking 1-year-old like Eden.
